Una Skujina

By creating dreamlike realities and representing emotional extremes, I explore the themes of decadence, myth and dreams in the time of rising political hostilities and war, often looking back at my Latvian roots. Having lived in both Latvia and Berlin, my art practice is currently based in the Netherlands and revolves around painting and photography. In these 3 places I take part in collectives, music and art scenes collaborating with people, friends and artists from various disciplines and backgrounds. I document and encapsulate their stories, emotions and energy through photography and use it as an inspiration for large scale paintings.
