Looking back at my latvian roots, I have portrayed a lavish, indulgent scene which is an allegory compared to the closeness of war and continuous intimidations by Russia as well as the history and consequences of the 50 year long Soviet occupation. The often harsh reality and overlooked history makes me dream and hope for plentiful, peaceful times of striving latvian nation as it once was before the terrors of war and occupation. However, the nightmare and terrors of war are much closer than the dream of peace.
